We look at pictures (such as the one we have here) and we laugh at the thought of anyone even posting such signs. It makes you wonder how long such confusion would remain in place and the chaos it brings before having them removed and replaced. If we actually encountered such signs ourselves, it might not be so humorous. However, in walking out our daily lives and particularly if we are endeavoring to follow God's directions, coming across such "directional signs" are not at all a laughing matter.
Because of the confusion it brings, our first clue should be that God didn't post these. So before we become upset, let us be reminded of who is the author of confusion. (1 Corinthians 14:33) God is the author of peace and order. Instead, our reaction should be to not proceed any further until God begins removing the confusion so we can clearly see which direction his "arrow" is pointing.
Our righteousness through Christ will also rectify and keep our path straight (Proverbs 11:5) Following the path of righteousness is our best deliverance from every false way. "How happy is the man who does not follow the advice of the wicked, or take the path of sinners, or join a group of mockers." (Psalm 1:1 HCSB) His (or her) delight and direction comes from God's Word (verse 2).
We are very familiar with Proverbs 3:6. Proverbs 3:6 (AMP)
6 In all your ways know, recognize, and acknowledge Him, and He will direct and make straight and plain your paths.
As we think about and apply God's Word to all our ways, He will keep us on the right path and not allow us to become confused or disoriented by confusing signs.
God's ability to direct our lives goes far beyond our own abilities. He is in control of all things within our lives. "I know, Lord, that a man's way of life is not his own; no one who walks determines his own steps." (Jeremiah 10:23 HCSB) We can plan out the direction to go, but as long as we remain submitted to God, He will make the corrections needed keeping our feet from heading down the wrong way. (Proverbs 16:9)
Waiting upon the Lord, being ready to move ahead when He says, "Go this way" brings stability and peace as we trust in His direction. "The steps of a (good) man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way (and He busies Himself with his every step)." (Psalm 37:23 Amp.) He's the perfect, infallible GPS system!

I am so thankful that God directs our steps. I would be lost for sure. Thank you for this delightfully useful hub. Vote up and useful. ~ eddie
God certainly is not the author of confusion. You offer the most useful advice in not to proceed further until God clears the path. It is always so tempting in those moments to just do something rather than wait for Him to work it out and show us the right way. which reminds me of Saul offering up that sacrifice instead of waiting for Samuel to get there.
Enjoyed your devotion and the images were perfect and well suited for the message.
Wow that is so cool!!!!
His Daughter, Nice thought provoking, insightful hub! As you well stated:"Waiting upon the Lord, being ready to move ahead when He says, "Go this way" brings stability and peace as we trust in His direction. "The steps of a (good) man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way (and He busies Himself with his every step)." (Psalm 37:23 Amp.)
